ปตท.ยันกระบวนการขายโครงการของ PTTGE โปร่งใส-ยุติธรรม
Mr. Supoj Laosuapa, Senior Executive Vice President, responsible for supervising the legal office of PTT Public Company Limited, as Chairman of PTT Green Energy Company Limited (PTTGE), revealed about the news about the process of selling PTTGE’s projects in Indonesia, which has already been completed, 4 out of 5 projects, that it has been properly carried out in every step, such as approval from various committees up to the board of PTT, the parent company, with internationally recognized consultants providing advice and overseeing the process carefully, correctly, and transparently, confirming that the sale was made at an appropriate price. In addition, PTT’s audit committee has hired a world-class consulting firm (Big Four) to thoroughly examine the sale of the project to see if it was correct and to report to the PTT board of directors, which the consultants reported on Friday, July 21. Therefore, it is confident that the procedures and decision to sell the project are not as problematic as reported in the news.
This case originated from the fact that in 2012, PTT, the parent company, discovered evidence of irregularities in the investment process from the land purchase and project management of PTTGE, which invested in the palm oil business in Indonesia in 2007. Therefore, an investigation was conducted and disciplinary punishment was imposed on the executives involved, and the case was forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for consideration and filing a lawsuit with the Civil Court in accordance with the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability of the PTT Group. At the same time, the PTT board considered canceling the investment and proceeding with the sale of assets to protect the organization’s interests.
